Koriyama celebrates their re-designation

 Koriyama held the ceremony for their second designation on Feb. 4, 2023.

Koriyama launched the Safe Community programs in 2014 and became a member of the International Safe Community Network in 2018. Since then, they continuously worked for community safety promotion along with the indicators. Over the last few years, however, it was not easy to promote Safe Community programs due to Covid 19 pandemics. But Koriyama kept working forward by finding what they could do under limited conditions. They found it we very good time to review what they had done to prepare after Covid 19 pandemics.

All those their efforts put SC Koriyama forward and their achievements was highly evaluated at the evaluations. The certifiers were: Michal Grivna (leading certifier), Jeongyee Bae and Michael Lowerly Wilson.

Following to the designation ceremony, Koriyama commended citizens, groups and companies for their contributions to safety promotion in the community. 

Although only limited number of the citizens were invited to the ceremony with the consideration of influence of Covid 19, the video messages from the certifiers made the event very special and the ceremony was filled with joy. The event and achievement of Koriyama SC was featured on the local newspapers on the following days.
