2025 Message from the Chairman
I would like to take this opportunity to announce some important issues to all safe communities, both those that have already joined and those that are preparing to join, and to all of our visitors at the beginning of 2025.
I hope that our colleagues in this center can help more communities and countries make remarkable developments in community-based injury prevention and safety promotion.
Like many other organizations in the world, our activities continued digitally during the pandemic, however employing three accredited certifiers for each community assured and increased the quality of the certification process.
We have started face-to-face and physical site visits since the autumn of 2023, so it has been making more effective networking during the last year.
In addition to regular board meetings and designations/ re-designations in different countries, our organization also actively participated in the World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion in New Delhi last year by organizing related workshops.
An important change planned in the organization last year was the termination of the General Manager's term and the transfer of his responsibilities to the new Secretary General. So a new Secretary General and her Deputy have been appointed, and have started working since the beginning of this year.
Therefore, I would like to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Guldbrand Skjönberg, who has done his utmost to fulfill his duties as General Manager for the past 10 years. I am also very pleased that he has accepted to continue his duty at the center as Senior Advisor, and certifier.
On the other hand, I would like to congratulate Professor Namsoo Park on her new duty as Secretary General, and Professor Alexander Kudryavtsev as Deputy Secretary General, and wish them great success.
I hope that with this new management team at the center, many significant innovations and developments towards safer communities and countries will happen worldwide.
