Safe Playground
Safe environment toward young children on parents’ involvement basis could be found in ‘safe playground’ project. Ways to have parents’ involvement in creating safe playground for their children started from parent meeting to raise their awareness on child safety, then encouraging their participation in design and maintenance of the playgroup, including self determination in using playground rules. Improved safe playground could be seen from playground modification, playground equipment made from abundant domestic or natural materials, assigning in charge persons for playground maintenance, improving sand playground surfaces, educating children to play correctly, assigning on-duty teachers or child-care givers to take close care when children in the playground, always having playground in good condition, having regular playground and playground equipment inspection, etc. The project has achieved a satisfactory level with a better and safer playing skill of children and decrease of child injury in safe playground.

Falling prevention for elderly
Safe environment for the elderly also appears in Wangsaiphoon safe community. Project on ‘falling prevention in the elderly’ aims to reduce falling injury and death in the group of the elderly. The cause of falling accident mostly comes from the less capable or unfit physical health in the elderly; including unpredictable behavior of them and inappropriate surrounding environment. Interventions and measures to monitor safety in the elderly included improving the elderly’s physical health such as jogging, leg muscles exercise, and using walking aid tools, modifying housing conditions such as lighting, flooring, height of furniture, handrail, steps, toilet, electrical wire, unwetted floor, and so on. Keeping this project continued, it found falling injury in the elderly decreased.

Safe Roads
‘Safe road’ is another safety work to promote safe environment and safe behavior of drivers. The project runs inclusively both legal measures and social measures in order to control and make people abide by the traffic rules. ‘Check point’ is one of legal measure and social assistance. ‘Check point’ offers a stop for relaxing, refreshing, getting travel route information, alcohol inspection, etc. as the most common cause of road accidents comes from driver’s behavior. For example, drunk and drive, falling asleep when driving, speedy drive, disobedience to traffic rules, careless drive, no wearing helmet, not getting used to with the location, and so on. ‘Check point’ works very well in a high traffic condition during a high season of travel namely New Year holiday season, Songkarn festival.

Domestic violence
‘Domestic violence prevention’ project has been set up and managed by municipality office. In the past, from the assessment survey of community-level violence, it showed the violence at moderate risk. Therefore, people were more aware as they want to have their community safer and more pleasant for themselves and their children. The surveillance system of domestic violence prevention comes up with the close relationship among neighbors, and student attendance in school. For example, if something bad happens to a family, the neighbors would notify to person in charge. If a student misses a class, his or her teacher would check what happened to the student. Basic assistance made to a family having violence were namely child protection, physical and mental health treatment, job offers, etc. A lesson on domestic violence would be learned and explored on the situation of such violence, interventions that work, and future preventive plans. Under the project, it showed community violence assessment level has an intensity equal to 1, which can be interpreted as no risk of violence.
