The programme covers the following safety promotion activities:

For the age group

Children 0-14 years:

Safe home promotion programs: Program for safe use of medicines on children, in which program measures are provided for counseling and protecting use of medicines on children in the kindergartens in the community; and, program for the safety of newborn baby in hospital, in which program such measures as notification of hospitalization, attendant certificate, mother-baby identification belt and special chop by designated personnel before discharging from hospital are provided for preventing theft, infection, mistaking and exchanging newborn babies in the traditional Chinese medicine hospital.

              

Safe traffic promotion program: “Little Safety Guard” program, in which program the focus is put on safe traffic education on children aged 0 to 7 and safe traffic publicity campaign is implemented in the campus in the forms of simulated traffic police’s traffic guidance, performance of sketches on traffic safety and analysis on traffic accidents.

Safe school promotion programs: Program for providing a medical kit to each kindergarten.

    

Program for safe food and drink in “3 meals and 2 snacks” for children, which program ensures safe meals for kids in the kindergartens and eliminates unsafe food in the kindergarten; and, program for protecting kid’s safety by renovating the environment and facilities in the kindergarten and perfecting the safety facilities in the kids’ activity spaces.

  

Safe sports promotion program: Program for kids to recognize “4 types of floors”, in which program the kindergarten builds 4 types of different floors for the kids aged from 3 to 7 to be able to identify and protect themselves in both safe and risky environments.

  

                                  

For children and teenagers aged 7-24:

Safe home promotion programs: “4:30pm school” program for children aged from 7 to 14, in which program the community, parents and schools work together to ensure the children’s safety after 4:30pm when they leave from school; and, students’ safety education program, in which program the publicity and education campaigns on safe food, fire prevention, safe traffic and safe home are launched in schools.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Safe traffic promotion program: Program for peak hour traffic control in front of school, where traffic police, community workers and volunteers work together to ensure the safety of the children to and from school.

Safe school promotion programs: Program for analysis, testing, evaluation and improvement of students’ physical constitution; and, program for fostering safe behaviors and safe habits among primary school students.

 

 

 

 

 

Program for ensuring a safe environment in the campus, in which program the school buildings are reinforced, safety slogans are set up and hardware facilities are perfected, to ensure the safety of students in the campus activities; program for safety training in the schools and popularizing safety knowledge among more students; and, program for mental health education on students with a view to avoid injuries caused due to mental health problems.                  

For middle-aged people aged 25-60:

Safe home promotion program: gas safety promotion program

    

Program for undertaking “5 roles” in keeping food safety and safe home program for the disabled.

  

Program for popularizing fire prevention knowledge, in which program a series of publicity activities are designed for spreading fire prevention and fire safety knowledge.

    

Anti-burglary program by strengthening human protection and physical protection

  

 

Safe traffic promotion program: Program for strengthening traffic safety management, controlling acts that are in violation of traffic laws and regulations, improving the drivers’ practice of civilized driving, and maintaining a good traffic order.

  

Wheel-chaired traffic guard program, in which program the disabled person voluntarily publicizes traffic knowledge and encourages civilized transportation.

  

 

Program for safe travel of the disabled, in which program the building gates and passageways at the access to the neighborhoods are renovated to ensure safe access for those persons with physical disabilities.

  

Evidence-based programs: program for increasing traffic flow at key intersections, in which program the waiting lines for the vehicles going straight and turning left are moved forward to increase the vehicle throughput at the same period of time.

For elderly people aged above 60:

Safe home promotion program: “Safe and Sound" residential area program for repairing the bumpy roads and for repairing and replacing the damaged well lids.

“Harmonious neighbor festival” program and program for caring “empty-nest elderly”, in which programs activities are held to promote harmony and increase care and attention for the elderly in the community.

 

Program for inviting TCM experts to the community to provide free diagnosis for the elderly aged above 60, setting up health profiles and providing follow-up treatment for them.

  

Safe sports promotion program: Program for preventing injury during sports and fitness activities, in which program reminder signs are set up and old and damaged sports equipment is replaced in a timely manner.

    

 

Evidence-based programs: Cerebral apoplexy prevention and intervention program, for screening out the potential patients of cerebral apoplexy and helping them to prevent such a disease, and for popularizing TCM methods of health care such as 5-birds exercise, 8-sectioned exercise and muscle-bone strengthening exercise.

 

  

Prevention programs specific to high-risk populations:

Safety promotion programs for the middle-aged and elderly population: “Red button/Green button” safety call program, for providing special phones with “call for rescue” and “call for help” functions to those elderly people aged above 60 and those residents in need in the community.

    

Safety promotion programs for population with mental disorder: Program for providing mental counselling hotline by Xiao Lan; program for promoting rehabilitation of children suffering from autism, in which program the mock-up scenarios such as the bus stop are set up in the schools for the mentally retarded in order to help those children suffering from autism to be more able to take care of themselves.

              

Program for safety of students in Weifang Secondary School when riding bikes or scooters: a program is carried out for publicity and education on safe riding of bikes and scooters, and speed limit devices are set up for encouraging safe riding.

Safety promotion programs for drivers: program for popularization of traffic knowledge and program for management of road traffic safety.

Prevention programs specific to high-risk environment:

Safe traffic promotion programs: key road section intervention program, key intersection “hard reminder” program, and safe “lane” program.
