The first Russian Community now designated

Shenkursk is the first Russian Community designated. They have built up an excellent local register, they have a well working cross-sector group and a very committed mayor according to the certifiers. Activities in Shenkursk in 2014-2017 were performed within the frame of the project titled"Community-based injury prevention program and injury surveillance in Shenkursk" led by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (Project leader - Prof. Andrej Grjibovski) with financial support from the Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services. Project activities in Russia were coordinated by Dr. Alexander Kudryavtsev from the Northern State Medical University. The main partners in Norway were University Hospital of Northern Norway (Harstad) and Norsafety AS (Harstad). From the Russian side the most active participants were Medical Information Analytical Centre (Arkhangelsk), Northern State Medical University (Arkhangelsk), Regional Rescue Service (Arkhangelsk), Regional Red Cross (Arkhangelsk) and virtually all major institutions in Shenkursk.
