Background Education:

Dr Wong is the Principal Consultant of The Hong Kong Occupational Safety & Health Council. She takes major responsibilities in implementing the Council’s policies in consultancy, education and training, promotional programmes, research and information services, and has been promoting safety and health in workplaces and communities in mainland China and Hong Kong SAR. Before joining the Council, Dr Wong was the occupational hygienist in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She graduated with a Master Degree in Occupational Hygiene from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK and a PhD in Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology from the University of Southampton, UK. She also holds a Certificate in Operational Competent in Occupational Hygiene from UK and Certificate in Teaching Methodology in Tertiary Education from HK. She is a Fellow of Hong Kong Institute of Environmental and Occupational Hygiene (HKIEOH).

Safe Community Experiences:

Dr. Wong is a veteran practitioner in safety promotion both locally and internationally for more than last 10 years. She has conducted safe community trainings and offered professional advices to communities concerning injury prevention and safety promotion. She has conducted certification for Safe Communities, and has attended 26 site visits in mainland China and Hong Kong SAR. During the past ten years, she has devoted herself to promoting safety and health in communities and workplaces. Furthermore, she has developed an Occupational Safety Culture Index - measuring the community and employees awareness, attitude and knowledge towards workplace safety and health in Hong Kong.
